3NOVATICA was established at the beginning of 2014, and is the company that continued operations of U-Design – the first Polish manufacturer of low-cost 3D printers and creator of the largest online forum for 3D printing enthusiasts MojRepRap (my RepRap). One of the shareholders in this new company is Inventronics – the leading manufacturer of electronics to household appliances in Europe.
Originally, 3NOVATICA was only offering a single type of 3D printer: GATE, a typical RepRap construction, which are very popular amongst Polish 3D printing enthusiasts. However, this autumn the company unveiled two brand-new 3D printers, which are designed to completely depart from their GATE printer. These new printers are the affordable, compact and consumer-oriented FLEXA, and the PROFABB, which is intended for professional use.
FLEXA
FLEXA is a smooth, Apple-like 3D printer, with a lot of special and unique functionalities. FLEXA has a large working area of some 19 x 19 x 23 cm, and can be delivered with two printing heads. It has a temperature sensor inside the workspace that changes the color of the lights when the temperatures rise or fall (red warns for overheating, while blue means everything is safe), a webcam and a heated filament feeder attached to the outside. It comes with a heated bed as well, and has the ability to 3D print any filament currently on the market (so ABS, PLA, Laywood, Laybrick and their derivatives). It is operated through a dedicated version of Repetier Host sofware, which is open-source.
The BASIC FLEXA version (with a single extruder) is now available for 6763.77 PLN (which is approximately €1600 ). This includes a 2-year warranty on the device. Higher versions cost are slight more expensive: the FLEXA BOX equipped with a heated filament container net can be bought for 8239.77 PLN (€1900 ), while the FLEXA DUO, with two extruders and heated filament container costs 9223.77 PLN (€2200 €). During pre-sale, the FLEXA DUO can be purchased for €1600.

Additional features of the device:
• DIG system "Drive Inside the Guide": transmission parts placed in the XY axis linear guides to provide greater safety for the user
• XY drive system has been built on quiet, precise rails of 12 mm
• It comes with a "clean chamber" in the print area, where the XYZ drive motors are placed
• You can operate it with one or two extrusion heads, which are easy to mount
• Easy service filament: a feeder for the filament is placed on the outside of the printer.
• The feeder maintains a constant temperature (50°C) and gives up-to-date information about the amount of remaining material in container
• You can order it in any color you'd like.
PROFABB
The PROFABB is something different entirely. The research and prototyping for this 3D printer took more than a year. It was first shared with the public in March 2014, during the Days of 3D Printing in Kielce, Poland – the biggest annual 3D printing event in Poland – but the final model can now be shared as well.
The standard PROFABB 3D printer already comes with two printheads, a webcam, a turbine cooling system and an emergency stop button. The temperature inside the working chamber - like in FLEXA – is monitored by a sensor that changes the color of the lights when the temperatures rise or fall (red warns for overheating, while blue means everything is safe) It has 12 mm wide guide rails and belts. The total working area is 20 x 20 x 23 cm. The table is heated, and the PROFABB can print in ABS, PLA, nylon, rubber, Laywood, Laybrick and derivatives.The PROFABB 3D printer has closed working chamber that isn't heated.
The PROFABB is touted as a reliable device capable of working around the clock: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 30 days a month. It is a very solid and heavy device intended for professional users. It's price is currently unknown, but is expected to be somewhere in the region of €2500.
Both printers will be ready for shipment late October / early November.
