Ghostly International is a record label, design house, and technology innovator that provides works of high quality, integrity, and individuality. This month, Ghostly has teamed with 3D printing company MakerBot for a special contest centered around turntables, vinyl collections, and 3D printers. Ghostly International and Makerbot invite designers to create unique objects that will delight record collectors and music lovers: design a 3D item that could decorate, augment, or personalize record collections and home stereos.
To join the MakerBot Ghostly Vinyl Challenge, simply upload your designs to Thingiverse with the tag #GhostlyVinyl before November 30th at 11:59PM EST. A panel of MakerBot and Ghostly employees will judge entries on creativity and printability and winners will be announced on December 15th. The first-prize winner will receive Ghostly's 2014 full length vinyl catalog and a MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer. Three winners will receive spools of MakerBot Filament (Three spools for first place, two for second, and one for third) and have their design featured on Thingiverse.
You can even download 'Ghostly Essentials: Music for Makers' here, specially curated to help soundtrack your creative process. 'With fresh tunes and favorites from Ghostly artists Beacon, Matthew Dear, Xeno & Oaklander, Solvent, Lusine, and Heathered Pearls, among others, our Music for Makers comp is the perfect way to get your inspiration flowing, or just take a break from the hard work of new ideas.'
