Desktop 3D printer manufacturer Zortrax has released an updated version of its popular M200 3D printer. The new machine, the M200 Plus, offers users a slew of new features including WiFi connectivity, a new extruder design, and additional support for new materials.
Founded in 2013, Polish company Zortrax has become a prominent manufacturer of desktop 3D printing systems and filaments. The company’s notable products include its M200 3D printer, the slightly larger M300, and the more recent Inventure 3D printer with double extrusion.
It’s newest model, unveiled this week, is the M200 Plus, a 3D printer which builds upon and updates its familiar M200 model.
“Since the Zortrax M200 premiere, we have have been listening to the opinions of our users,” commented Karolina Bołądź, Chief Product Officer at Zortrax SA. “3D printing technology is constantly developing.
“There are new types of materials, and the need to automate the production process became very important [as] 3D printers increasingly began to become an inseparable element of production plants or design offices. Our goal was to adapt the world's best desktop 3D printer to the new reality. In addition, Zortrax M200 Plus is a perfect reflection of the IoT concept.”
So, what’s new with the M200 Plus 3D printer? Let’s take a look.
First, Zortrax has integrated WiFi and Ethernet connectivity to its new 3D printer which enables users to remotely control the 3D printing process. Using the company’s Z-SUITE software application, users can now pause a print job remotely and closely watch the build process through the printer’s built-in camera (also new!).
Zortrax adds that, with the new WiFi and Ethernet connectivity, it is now easier to send ZCODEX 3D printing files directly to the 3D printer. (If your internet goes down, there is still the option to upload the 3D file to the printer via a flash drive.)
The Zortrax M200 Plus 3D printer also features a touchscreen display powered by a quad-core processor. The display is reportedly fast, intuitive, and makes it possible for Zortrax to automatically update your 3D printer with new functionalities.
All these new features, plus the 3D printer’s LPD (layer plastic deposition) technology, are geared towards enabling coordinated and efficient 3D printer farm setups.
As Marcin Olchanowski, Zortrax’s Chief Technology Officer, explained: “Zortrax M200 Plus is a 3D printer based on LPD technology, which was created for professional and corporate clients. It is the reason why we introduced the possibility of combining 3D printers into farms and manage them through the wireless connectivity. Thanks to it, one trained employee can coordinate the production performed on several or dozen machines.”
Finally, compared to its M200 predecessor, the new M200 Plus 3D printer can support more materials, including Zortrax’s Z-SEMIFLEX flexible filament and even external materials. The M200 Plus’ broader material support is largely thanks to a newly redesigned extruder and opens up the machine’s applications significantly.
The 3D printer is listed on the Zortrax store for $2,290.

I have two. If you need to print a bunch of objects and don't want to worry about failures get a Zortrax. One of our printers had over 1500 hours with no defects. Well worth the $$. I can put in a 26 hour print go home and let it run without worry.
